The Veerhaven, situated between the Willemkade en Westerkade in the classical Scheepvaartkwartier (shipping quarter), is one of the many smaller ports in the city of Rotterdam. It acquired its name from the regular ferry service to Katendrecht, that started taking place in its waters on the 15th century. The harbour has in recent years (1990) been mainly home to historical sailboats and recreational vessels.
